I've not read of a known hack for it. All the people that have bought the DVD45 seem unable to play VCDs or SVCDs. Try and return it and buy a Pacific from Asda, it plays VCDs, MPEGS and JPEGs (£44) or one of the other cheapies selling in other upermarkets. Most of them play everything you can throw at them without the need for hacks. -

It can be made multiregion by opening the tray and keying in 2812 on the remote and pressing enter until you get to region 9. -

Dave's response doesn't work on my machine. Pressing ENTER closes the tray and it loads (or not if it's a Region 1 disc!).
Any suggestions? -

1 turn on your dvd45
2 open disc tray either using eject button on the player or the open button on the remote
3 press 2812
4 a menu should pop up, press enter untill 9 appears
5 your dvd player is now region free
Have not tried it yet please post a reply if it works thanks -

Bought mine today from Argos for a xmas present, just tested it by attaching to a little portable and it worked with copy cds and also played the cd(s)I had stored photographs on - brilliant value. Doesn't come with a scart lead to attach to your telly so make sure you check which one you need.
