I have managed to find some .jar files for some java games I want to put on my nokia 6100 (rayman 3, rayman golf, aston golf, motogp etc.) but when I go to install them using Nokia Game Installer I am asked for .jad files which I have none of for the games I want. How am I meant to install these games? What are .jad files for? Where can I find the .jad files i need?

I found a website which has Java-games as .jad files.. I don't know what it is but you should be able to download games for free with GPRS, I've tried to do that but I don't know how GPRS works.. can you help me with that?? The site is: http://homepage.hispeed.ch/gipri/java.htm

hope this helps you, and maybe you can help me?

    Greetings Jeroen

a .JAD file contains a list of information about the game/application including version, manafacturer, and most importantly the filename and sometimes the location of the .JAR file which is the actual app/game.

if you do not have the .jad file, try downloading:

    http://www.geocities.com/mangokun/jadmaker/jadmaker.htm

i have not tried it myself so i do not know how reliable it is, but that's the kind of thing you need.

also, in response to jeroen kroes' response, i would imagine that from the page you gave you would input the url into the wap browser on your phone and it would then transfer the game to your phone - i use a cable connected to my computer so i'm not 100% it will work, but it looks that way.

    try:

    http://www.google.com/search?q=jad+jar+%22index+of%22 & amp;hl=en & amp;lr= & amp;ie=UTF-8 & amp;oe=UTF-8

for more games, although normally i search for a specific game i know the title of to save time browsing...

...my collection is at about 200 games and 682 polyphonic ringtones - try it!
