I started messing with WAP when I first got my Siemens C35i and must say I am not impressed.
First, the page you want always seems to be unavailable.
Secondly, the phone will not book mark the pages. You have to type in the full url by hand
Thirdly, why bother with email when SMS goes right to your friends phone.
Can anyone tell me I am wrong and WAP is great ?
Dont think so. -

I completely agree, WAP it seems could not be a more useless function. However, with the next generation of mobile phones, 3G+ models will come along apparently able to utilise more bandwith from the current networks. Good luck getting access on the current network it is so choked up. What do you think will happen when the phones begin to chew up ten to fifteen more times the bandwidth of your standard WAP phone? Websites currently wanting to provide a WAP variation on the current theme, mostly text only and poor pictures. It seems the future of WAP is looking very shady indeed. -

Yes, I do. I use it to retrive my mail from my yahoo account or from my mymail.ro account when I make trips in the mountins. It's really useful.

I don't agree. I use WAP all the time. Granted it's slow and the content is text only, but it's invaluable to check real time news and sport results. I couldn't count the number of times I've used it to check train times, infact I'd be quite lost without it. I'd never use it for email though, the lag once you've entered about two lines of text is intolerable. It's like most things, you get what you make of it...
