    he is Perry McCarthy, there was an article about Top Gear in the paper where they revealed his name after he trashed some old Jaguar sports car.

    From the first moment he came on, I knew the stig is damon hill.

    why?

    He has to be a brit.

    He has to be both famous and popular.

    He has to be seen to be 'the ultimate expert'

    He has to be a 'likeable' person

    He has the same physical features (length and build)

    His head would fit the helmet. (check it out, it's rather small!)

    He has the same way of moving, standing, same posture

    He has the same driving style (extremely clean and relaxed, even when it gets tough)

    He has the same 'taste' in music

    Photo's of him without the helmet are clearly meant to throw you people off track

    I asked him, and he just smiled

    I have examined the Stig and old videos of Damon Hill closely, not just the driving style but also the body language and stats, he is almost exactly the same height as Damon and his traits both on and off the track are spot on. my verdict is that I am 85% positive that the Stig is indeed Mr Damon Hill

    Those of you who've mentioned Perry McCarthy have been alot more certain than anyone who's mentioned another driver. All others seem to be guesses. I've looked into it further and found other sources that state Perry is the Stig.



    I think my question has been answered.
