    "SONY RECALL PETITION"...SONY DVP-S360 & S560

    -------send emails to SONYRECALL@hotmail.com-------------

I am writing this message about my dvp-s360 and its vast problems, this applies to the sony dvp-s560 as well...as i have read we are all in the same boat which is why i have organized a group to do something about it, i want everyone to send me an email about their problem and contact info, just an email address or your name, redundancy is very effective, so if you think others have already written you still should definitely write...HERE IS THE EMAIL ADDRESS SONYRECALL@hotmail.com ...this address has been made to compile all the statements of each and everyone of you...enclose a contact address, or i will use the email address you send to me...i will compile all the emails about your problems with the dvp-s360/dvp-s560 and i am going to make a case out of this...all of these emails will be directly sent via registered mail to sony's front office and we are definitely going to see results, i'll see to it...let's get these emails sent quickly so we can get this problem fixed asap...we can do it...send your name too and/or anything else you think will make OUR case stronger...thanks...somehow, everyone's sony dvd players are resulting in c 13:00 and NO disc errors at around the same time...this is not by chance. Something must be done, let's get together and make this work. Thanks.

I think this problem involves all DVP-S*** series. I got the DVP-S570D and get the same problem. I also read from other site that their lower model have the same problem too.

My unit gives No Disk ALL THE TIME. I bought a cleaner, but didn't help. I buy EVERYTHING SONY, including the 32" when I bought the DVD. I am feeling that I'm only paying for the Sony name and they are riding on it (Like Marantz did). It is sad to think that Quality takes a back seat to the bottom line. They certainly didn't get there with that philosophy and in time they'll pay dearly for their "new vision'!!

My sony dvp-s560d for the most part died on me roughly a year after i bought it. it began to give me no disc errors the more days that went by the more discs began to give the errors i have bought every disc cleaning cloth i can find as sony insisted that the disc must be the problem even though it was happening with roughly 15 disc's at the time i spoke with customer service and was basically blown off. naturally i didnt really appriciate that as the year before i had bought roughly 1000 dollars worth of sony equipment. I also tried cleaning the lens again to no avail. The only thing Sony offered to do for me was to charge me 160 dollars to "diagnose' my machine. by "diagnose i assume that ment charging me another 250 dollars to repair it IF they figured out what was wrong with it. The amazing customer service i got in this manner has virtually guaranteed that the sony corporation had better enjoy the thousand dollars i spent with them in march of 2001 as the will never see another dime of my money .

I have had my Sony DVP S560 for slightly over 12 months now and am having serious problems with freezing and skipping at the end of the DVD. Also recently started getting the C13 problem even if is a new disc or clean disc. Please recall this terrible DVD player or give us free upgrades or THIS IS THE LAST SONY PRODUCT I WILL BUY

    Hi there.

I've had my s360 for almost a year and a half now. About four months ago I was getting the disc skipping but i was able to get rid of that just by ejecting the disc and running it again. I think it's caused by a balancing problem.

Now I'm getting that bloody no disc error and the stupid thing was working last week! There's no reason why it should just suddenly break down. Again, I think it has something to do with balancing. I was looking through the system diagnostics and runnign tests on it and it always seemed to screw up whenever it started spinning and measuring the jitter of the disc.

When did you start this petition? Is there any news about a recall yet cause I want my money back on this thing or at least a new "quality" dvd player. I paid $300 canadian for it cause it's a sony and I also thought it would be a solid product.

    thanks.

I am also a victim of sony dvp-s560 famous "NO DISK" problem. I bought this dvd in may 2000 and the problem started happening since June 12, 2002. I spoke to sony service center and they want me to pay for the repair as it is out of warranty now.

I will never buy a sony product again

    Hey Sony,

You need to have a recall on those products....my parent got No disc error on this DVD...we tried to clean the lens and tried to fix it no help....and that is a BAD DVD player...we need to have a free repair for it....this is a recall...alot of people are having same issues with it and please do it and recall them! We will not shell out $130 to fix it.. and it's only over a year old...what a joke!

    SIncerely,
