I wanted to thank you for posting that URL, which solved my "lost disc" problem. Installed 2.5, installed the patch to 2.5.1, and all is right with the world.
If only the others desperately searching for this version of the software would have read your post... -

Hi Ken,
I no longer have any Olympus software. I acquired this temporarily to access an old Camedia Suite database for which I did not know the password and for which both the camera and software had been stolen. The software did not help and the company (Olympus) was of no assistance whatsoever. I eventually decoded the password and accessed the data using a Microsoft Access password cracker. In view of the total lack of interest shown by Olympus, I intend to replace the stolen camera with a Canon.
same problem here but I didn't find the password for the mdb file.
Do you still rememeber yours. Thanks for helping me out -

(*sigh*) Seriously, read this thread from the beginning. Very early on there is an URL for the 2.5 software; a few posts later, there is an URL for the 2.5.1 update required for XP.
Most of the rest of the posts in this seven-page thread are people asking to have emailed to them the same software that can be downloaded from those URLs. -

I recently had returned to me my Olympus Camedia Digital Camera D-560 after a really sad (and recent) breakup. Now I have the camera and a new computer and no software to use the camera. Is there anyway to get the software without having to buy it? As I mentioned, I'm going through a breakup, which some of you may know, can be expensive, so I don't really have the money to buy the software, but I think being able to take picutres might cheer me up! Let me know if you can help me: jasonlovesyoga@verizon.net -

Hold the phone folks, I just received a link for the downloads of CM 2.5 and its patch. I've installed CM2.51 and am ready to print a pile of contact sheets!
John
I am in need of camedia 2.5.. is it possible you can help me out? My email is irestoreall@aol.com
Thanks John
Would you be so kind as to pass on the URL
for the Camedia 2.5 download? I've been through all seven pages of this thread but
found only a link to a Russian site.

I downloaded what I thought was Camedia 2.5 from the Russian url posted earlier on this thread. After installing it, it turned out to be a utility software - Olympus C-5.11. So I downloaded the patch for CM2.51 but I still am unable to get my Dell laptop (Windows XP) to read my Olympus Camedia C900 zoom camera! Is this Olympus C-5.11 software the same as the CM 2.5??

I just went through this and here's how this works...
Go to the Russian download site to get a free copy of the Camedia 2.5 software from (click on the blue Russian text):
http://www.nix.ru/download_from_ftp_ext.html?id=4303
The software is stored in a RAR file type (like a zip file but different)... so you will need WinAce (or similar) to extract the files... a free version of WinAce extractor can be found at:
http://www.winace.com/files/xace26.exe
Use the WinAce software to extract the .rar file into a set of files in a folder somewhere on your desktop. Then go into that folder and run the Setup.exe file. When that finishes, you will have Camedia 2.5 installed. If you're running XP, you will want to also run the 2.5.1 update at:
http://www.olympus.co.jp/en/support/imsg/digicamera/download/software/patch/CM251E.exe
Hopefully that's all the infomation everyone needs.
-Roger
