Compacks ab6820 mp3

i am having trouble getting an MP3 cd to play on this player. have it connected to my hifi by the standard 2 channel (red and white) cables.



The player reads the disc and lists them to be played but when i say play it just skips over each song.



Any ideas as to why

Just bought one - hoping to link it up the same way (to an Amp). Will try and advise my findings......
