Triband phone us the GSM Networks for 1900 or 850 usa network and also 1800 and 900 gsm networks that are used in Europe and Asia which you need to know what the contry uses in my suggestion is to Lokk at phone that use 1900,900/1800 GSM which Nokia 7210, 3650, and from Sony the T68i and from Panasonic Gu87 working to the aviable networks also the other thing is that All American GSM carriers have the phones locked to use in USa and no other sim cards unless youu pay to have the manufacters to unlock the phone to use that countrys sim cards hope this helps you

I currently use a Motorola Timeport which has served me well, but given my traveling and 24/7 use it has taken a beating. I need a new gsm triband, nothing fancy. I need something durable, dependable, good reception/transmission, good battery, compact, light weight, etc.. The T68i seems too flimsy and I have heard complaints. I am afraid of the flip-open Motorola models - again concerned that they will eventually break. Can you recomend a solid, durable, replacement? Again, I do not need all of the bells and whistles.

    Thanks,

    Paul
