From San Francisco,
I have bought a condo that has a Bosch dishwasher. I don't have the manual so I am not sure if the soap dispenser is supposed to close after filling it or not. It doesn't stay closed. Please advise.

I'm researching these machines & one complaint I've heard is that the soap dispenser sticks open.... I've seen this complaint in two or three other forums. S. -

From Mission Viejo, CA,
My Bosch dishwasher soap dispenser slides over to the left and latches shut. -

From Holland,
The soapdispencer should be closed manually after you have put soap in the appropriate space; some models need to push the lid down over the tray (programma knob on zero) and other models; slide the lid to the left and when it reaches the stop push it down.
Hope this helps.

From MA,
Sometimes you have to try 2-3 timed to make it close. My problem is that the soap is not dispensing properly - Anyone know how the soap door is supposed to open during a wash? -

From Holland,
Replace the lid, partnumber 166621.
Test the opening by pressing the knob to disengage the lid once it is closed. But it just sounds like a bad lid. When you undo the lis, you will find a single spring underneath the lid just remember how it is attached to the soapdispencer.

From Dallas,
I have the same problem. We just bought a house and I don't have a manual for the dishwasher. The soap dispenser does not close and also there is a round "dial" next to it that has an arrow with numbers 1-7. I still have not figured out what that is suppose to do. Also, the first time I used it, the dishes were soaking wet after sitting there all day. I realized there is no visible heating element at the bottom like I am used to seeing. Can you shed some light for me?
Thanks -

From Holland,
The dial is to adjust the amount of rinse aid. This is normally set to 3.
If you don't fill the rinsaid reservoir with rinse aid the dishes won't dry. -

From Philadelphia,
With the door open, the door for the soap dispenser should be horizontal. Pull the slide closed while pushing down on the slide. It should stick closed.
The door that opens with the dial in it is for rinse agent. When the dot below the dial is blue, the rinse agent is full. When there is no blue, refill it. Pour the rinse agent right into the dial and it will fill up.

From Australia,
Can someone please tell me the correct mounting for the spring in the detergent dispenser. Mine came out and since putting it back the door now works intermittantly. I'm sure it's to do with the orientation of the spring.
