Philips in Australia include a slip in the box for the DVD-736K (actual model number is DVD-736K/751). I have edited it for you to make it a bit more user friendly.
*** Press the tray "open" button on the DVD player or hold down the "1" button on the remote to open the disk tray.
*** Enter the numbers slowly on the remote - "1111" - Nothing shows on the screen!
*** Press "0" on the remote. The screen should show "new region 0" in the top left-hand corner. This makes it multi-zone. You can also repeat the procedure to change to a specific zone with the appropriate number but you shouldn't need to.
*** Close the DVD tray, either press "open/close" on the player or hold down the "1" key on the remote.
*** If the player is disconneted for a period of time (say a couple of hours), the zoning will revert back to its default. You will need to repeat this procedure.
*** Note there are at least two different versions of this player sold, with some countries like India getting a different player. This process may not work with these players.
I hope this will help.
Cheers.
