Ok, please can someone who has been successfull in uploading sounds & images via a data cable preferably on a PC running XP, but any system would help tell me how the hell you achieved this as I am pulling my hair out. I have the 4.06 software, i have perfect files ready. I have the data speed on the phone set at auto or 115200 but will it upload anything...Of course not! The support from SAGEM is non existant so i am relying on the good old public on this one. To think i build Pc,s & yet i can't transfer a 6k file to a phone after 2 nights trying & searching the whole world for some non existant help pages Sad

Hey there - had similar problems myself but I have the solution! You need to go to sagem.com and follow the links through mobile phones, to the sagem myx5 link (it's in a banner). The software you need is free - it's called 'My Pictures and Sounds' and doesn't take long to download. When you have this (you MUST have winzip to uncompress it - that is where I came unstuck so ad to download a trial version of winzip from the net).
To find logos etc. for the phone try estato.com or http://www.sagemmyx5.free.fr/ which has LOADS and they're all free. Find a logo you like and right click, save as, and save it in a folder which you know where to find because...
after plugging in your data cable into both the computer and your phone, make sure the phone is then switched off and back on again whilst connected. Then Run 'My Pictures' program, click 'open', find your saved file and press the send button - it worked for me!
Any problems e-mail me - I might be able to help cause I've been struggling with this myself for SOOOOO long!
    Regards, Kate Smile

Try pluging the data cable into com port 2, then turn on the back light on your phone. Then go into port settings in your software and click on auto this should find it. If you get any sounds uploaded to your phone please let me know cos the ones I have uploaded have a very loud buzzing noise over the tone.

    Thanks

Go to this site, this guy has made some software which is really easy to use and works better than the official stuff. Haven't had any problems yet.

    Hope that helps.

you are probably using the wrong port. on my computer the port which is used for data communications is port 2, not port 1. it's probably the same thing on your computer too. i also had this problem because i first tried using port 1 until i found out that port 2 is the one which is set-up as the default communications port. this may be where you are also going wrong... i suggest you try plugging the cable into the other port on your computer and then connect it to your phone. next, switch off the phone and then turn it back on again. now open the sagem software and choose AUTO when you are selecting the port to use from the sagem software and it should automatically detect your phone and the port it is connected to. you will now be able to send ringtones, sounds & graphics etc to your phone as long as the files are within the guidelines stated in the software's Help document.

I received a new cable i bought direct from Sagem yesterday £12, I bought the other one from Ebay. It work a treat first time on auto...other cable faulty, typical!

I have dloaded loads of sounds & graphics now to the phone & have to say it's easier than I imagined it would be. Thanks for all your suggestions & I hope this topic will be off use to others.
