Still looking for a multi region hack for Pacific DVD1002, can anyone help, please?

pacific dvd 1002 from asda's

tip make sure you press correct buttons for step 4 & 5.

step 1

> 1. Press "setup"



> 2. Press "1" for region 1 or press "2" for region 2...press "7" for bypass

> Region code.



> 3. Press "PAUSE/STEP"





> 4. Press "previous" (This is | < < )





> 5. Press "next" (This is > > | )





> 6. Press "setup"





The Above Hack works perfectly !! I did it with draw closed & no disk in tray you will see no confirmation but it works, just do steps one to six simple as that. This machine does play svcd vcd and multiregion dvd, has ntsc to pal built in.

Clive's hack worked perfectly 1st time on my Pacific 1002. It's should now be multi-region and certainly plays region 1 disks. Follow Clive's instructions exactly. I started with drawer closed and "no-disk" showing in the LED display. I notice that the 1002's software seems to vary from one player to the next (I've had 3, the 1st didn't work at all, the 2nd didn't play DVD-r disks (played everything else tho') but the 3rd plays the lot including DVD-r. the last 2 m/cs(the one's that worked), differed slightly on the set-up screen, altho' both were blue screens, so Clive's hack may not work on all 1002's. Could you please tell me if you able to switch of the macrovision on this machine.
As this can interfear with the play back of some dvds.
allthough it is to stop piracy it causes other problems.

I bought this model yesterday and must say that I'm most impressed with it considering how cheap it was (£69.28 from ASDA).



I have just one concern; i.e., it is very noisy for about 5 - 10 seconds at the start of the first couple of chapters of DVDs, then it's fine.



Has anyone else had this problem or should I hot foot it back to ASDA?

Does anyone know if this DVD player can play Kodak picture Cds? I tried but it came up with unknow disk.

i tried the multi region hack on my 1002 dvd player bought just before xmas from asda and it DOESNT WORK , cannot get it to play multi region discs .

i tried all the recommended hacks and it still comes up "wrong region " in the display and wont play anything other than our own region discs .

are there any other hacks that work on the newest models , ie models purchased latre in december 2002 . tnx ian

I juz brought the player like 20mins ago tried the hack, now it plays vcd's and svcd's havent got any region 1 disc's to try but i assume they work!
