could anyone please help me in finding out how to make my player region free,it is a region 1 player, there was a hack at one stage, to move some jumpers, but my player doesnt have any jumpers, i would appreciate any assistance.............thanks

hi, well where do i start? with region 1 dvd players they are lock into region 1 only due to the tv system the americans have (ntsc) and we in the uk have (pal) because of regional 1 should only be for usa and canada, there are no settings on there dvd players for pal tv systems so no hack!!!

but with uk dvd players being region 2 which includes japan which have the same tv system as the usa we can get the settings on most dvd players to hack into to make the players muti-region via remote control hack or by installing a chip to overide the system.

I personaly haven't heared of any sony region 1 dvd players being muti-region but i could be wrong?
