I am curious to know if there is sound loss when converting from mp3 back to WAV or if it restores the WAV to original CD quality (and how much sound loss and of what type occurs when converting WAV to mp3, if any)?
interested to know,

Hi, Converting from MP3 to a WAV format don't yield to a loss of quality for the sound. However going from a CD format (CDA) to the MP3 format created slight loss of sound quality (but you cannot hear it).
I fact the CD quality is PERFECT, just the sound as if was when recorded it means that you have all the sound produced even the one you cannot hear (lower than 20Hz and upper than 20,000 Hz). The MP3 format limit the frenquency range to 20-20kHz so the sounds that the human hear is able to hear. On another side is compress the data and differences exists (depending on the compression rate , 64bits, 128bits etc...) but really undefinable. I once read a document on that question, and with audio extracts and only in some strange noises, mixes of some special range of resuencies difficult to compress, you hear a difference, so no worries, the quality can be considered as a CD quality, you would need a very expensive hi-fi system to hear, if you pay attention, a difference.
Bye-bye
