Hoover Fridge Freezer Faulty

Hi all.
My Hoover HCF5176W stopped working today.
The warranty run out 2 weeks ago and Comet are not interested in me now.
Seems the freezer completed defrosted...lost everything inside.
The light was still on in the fridge section though.
But no motor/compressor could be heard running.
So i switched the machine off to clean up the mess.
15 mins later i switched it on and now its running fine ???
What fault do i have ?
Will it happen again ?
Any ideas welcomed.
