I didn't realise that my car was due it's MOT test until it was overdue it's MOT test (and I'm not talking a few days or a week or something). As soon as I discovered it was overdue I stopped driving it and got it tested. I have 2 questions really:
1) Can I still get into trouble even though I've now got a valid MOT?
2) Will having a period of not having a valid MOT affect anything in the future (e.g. if I wanted to sell my car at any point)?

Please don't judge me or call me stupid as I've already called myself this numerous times already. Believe me, this is one mistake I will NEVER be making again.
