    Hi all,

We've been thinking we need to get a new washing machine for a while, but the need has become much more urgent all of a sudden when our old one blew up mid cycle last night!

Baby number two is on the way, and we're planning to use cloth nappies again so I want one with at least a 7kg capacity and at least 1400rpm spin speed as we don't have a tumble dryer, need a great spin so stuff comes out almost dry anyway. Needs to be reliable and ideally have quite a good cycle time, and good energy efficiency rating would be great too.

Can anyone recommend brands/models to go for or brands/models to avoid? We'd ideally like to keep within £400, but will stretch to slightly over for a really brilliant machine.

I'm really stressing out cos I hate making rushed purchases and really like to do my research before a big spend, but the fact I've got a dead machine in my kitchen full of wet washing means I need to get one ordered ASAP!

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Claire x

    Hi Claire

I would reccomend either, the Hotpoint-Ariston Aqualtis AQXXF149HPI Front Load Washer or one of the Hoover 7kg + models.
    Both reliable and quiet
