Red Hair!!!

I am going to be dying my hair a dark red colour at the weekend. That would not be a problem at all, if I didn't swim 3/4 times a week or didn't have any worries about caring for it afterwards!
Now many different sites I've checked out say that it needs to go onto dirty hair, others say clean, some say any colour shampoo and conditioner should be fine. I am totally lost!!!
I currently use Bed Head's Brunette Goddess range, and I love it! But will it be okay for red hair, or will I need to use something else? And if so, what exactly?

Girl I feel you - complex situation. I wish I knew the answer, but I guess you can use trial and error. Keep the red hair and still do your thing and see how it works out..
