When to plant out potatoes?

Hi everyone,

Planted my first spuds yesterday, in egg boxes safe and warm in the kitchen for now. I know you can plant them outside when the frost is gone, but do I need to wait for them to be a certain size, or for the little leaves that are sprouting already to turn a certain colour?
