Scotland Castle Wedding January 2008

Hello,

I would like to get married in a castle in Scotland in January. My fiance and I are happy to get married during the week in order to save on the venue.

I'd love to hear any suggestions from people who have held their wedding in a castle in Scotland and who know the COSTS involved!! I've seen lots of lovely venues on various websites with glowing reviews of castles, but I can't tell how much these places charge!!

There's one that I think is quite reasonable: Comlongon Castle. All the prices are on their website, for example, based on 30 guests:

Wedding Ceremony:

January 2009 (weekday): £700.00

Accommodation

Honeymoon Suites x 1 @ £240.00 = £240.00

Food

5 Course x 30 @ £40.00 = £1,200.00

Drinks

House Wine x 30 @ £8.00 (half a bottle of wine per person) = £240.00

House Champagne x 30 @ £7.00 = £210.00

Guide Total: £2,590.00

The rooms seem to vary in price from £110 to £225. TripAdvisor reviews look fantastic.

Does anyone have any suggestions for something similar as I'd like to have a few options? If you know prices for ceremony, reception and accommmodation, that would be great!!
