My BSA Scorpion now locks when I try to compress the spring.
I can tilt the barrel about 30° and then it locks and refuses to go any further to compress the spring.
Does anyone know why this should be and how do I cure it?

With very many thanks for any assistance.

    P.S.
I noticed that Stu, in Feb. 2003, mentions that he repaired his Scorpion.
Stu, if you are reading this, could you please let me know where you obtained the necessary information to carry out that refurbishment.
I can only see one screw which does not seem to do an awful lot.
Many thanks, Stu, for any assistance.

I can't give you an answer, but if the Scorpion is in good condition otherwise, it has quite a good value, so it would be worth getting a gunsmith have a look. If his quote is under £30, it should be worth having it fixed.
