Curly to straight hair

I purchased a babyliss ceramic straightener last year hoping to straighten out my curls. I had naturally very curly hair and wanted to straighten it, but not permanently, just occasionally. But the first time I used the straightener it did straighten my hair, very well and I love it and it's great, but I no longer have any curl in my hair and it feels/looks damaged, I've tried everything to curl it but nothing happens but straight frizzies and fried ends, I don't know what to do or if I can even do anything about it??
