This is a very complicated problem to explain.
Last year I had an olympus digital camera which worked fine for a couple of years. Took it on holiday and kept it in a safe and when we got home problems started to occur, ie the memory card started to do strange things, ie showing four of the same pictures when I viewed via the computer then it would not read or download them. I gave up on the first card, bought another, it worked for a while then the same thing started to happen. I took it into a repair place and they thought it may be the card reader. I was using an XD card.
Decided to get a new camera and I bought a Fuji Finepix F50fd. We took it away and it took a lot of photos then it got an occasional read error message. Eventually it stopped saving and when I downloaded what I had some were corrupted. I am worried that the only common denominator is the computer. Can it cause any problems, ie virus or has anyone else every had problems like these?
I tried one of the initial XD cards, got the message not inilialised so we followed the instructions took some photos but when we turned the camera off and later on again it was not initialised.
I am really worried that my computer is doing this. Has anyone any ideas?
