The Ryan UIL Invitational Meet is such a programme that the students always look forward to have. In the meet many students get chance to bag as many prizes as hey want. The trend of collecting prizes started with the Dragon UIL Academic team who pulled out a third place sweepstakes. Next was the social studies team that was placed second and Jason Bickerstaff placed fifth. The best performance was led by the Literary Criticism team. The team won first place in the meet. Carroll's Computer Science Team with Steven Rapp, Ashwin Venkataraman and Sumant Manne bagged three prizes each. Individual honors were given to Steven Rapp and Ashwin Venkataraman for acquiring the third place and for their active participation. In the Computer Applications category, Rapp was in the fourth place. Added to all these successes there were some more prizes hat the school bagged home. Mureji Futunde won first place overall and Christie Nicodem won fourth in the meet as a whole. These two students were considered the best performer through out the meet. Kelly Hanson won second in Ready Writing, whereas on the other hand it was Will Perkins who was placed fifth in Spelling. the science team was also successful enough in making a mark in the meet. The team was placed second among all the competitors of that category. Lynn Mercer (fourth); David Disiere (fifth); Nicole Arockiam (sixth); Sumant Manne (seventh); and Nagendra Polka (eighth) were all receiver of the individual honors from the organizing team. The competition was a grand success and students are looking for the next season of it, which will be UIL District - March 23-24 at Northwest High School.
