Can anyone give a review or tips regarding Bulgaria?

We have booked to go to Bulgaria this summer for two weeks. We are finding it extremely hard to find any reviews or information on our holiday destination.
We are staying at the Paradise Beach Hotel which although we thought was based on Sunny Beach, I think it is more towards Elenite.
If anyone has been to either this hotel or even to this area then I would love to hear all about it. Any advice or tips would be great. I'm thinking of things like currency exchange, cleanliness of resort, what's the beach like, the food any good [on average], best shops, things to avoid, safety advice...................any help would be great.
