Hi there
Just found this forum, looks really good so here goes.
I have been having a few electrical problems with my 406 (2006).
I have the following problems
The other day my Airbag warning light illuminated. Although it does not always come on which is strange, it does more often than not.
Also my CD changer in the boot stopped working for no reason
And the cruise control became unreliable, so it only works around 75% of the time.
I took it too the tuning specialist. He did a diagnoistic using "DEC Automotice Superscan" and got two errors;
First one reads;
System: Airbag Autoliv (MUX)
Fault Codes
8 - Side module trigger (right hand)
Open circuit [not present]
Next reads
System: BOSCH EDC 15 C2 (4HX-RHS-RHY-RHZ)
P0571 - Brake Switch signal
Coherence between 2 switches or main switch signal incorrect [not present]
The chap said the first problem would be extremely expensive to repair while the second was just a case of replacing the switch which should repair the cruise control.
Firstly, does anybody have any advice on the first problem? If the problem can not be solved directly, is there any way to turn off the warnings that I am getting. It beebs "Airbag system defective" every time I bring the car to a halt.
Secondly, is the chap right in what he says about replacing the switch and the cruise control
Thirdy, he also says that the CD player is probably because the multichanger is broken as its not reporting any faults. Can we get a new CD multichanger unit or is that going to be very expensive.
Many thanks. I really appreciate any and all help
Kind Regards -

I think the CD Multichanger can be replaced although I'm not quite sure what is the cost
