Battery runs out too quickly - Olympus Camedia C-765 Digital Camera

Hi, I have an Olympus CAMEDIA C-765 since 2004. Everything fine until this year, when the battery seems to run out after just a few shots. I thought that the batteries were dead so I bought a couple of new ones but the same problem happens. They take a while to recharge, which seems to me that they were empty. But they run out almost as soon as you start taking pictures. Is there any solutions or should I just think of buying a new camera? Thanks for your help
