    Hi all.

    Just needing a little help.
I'm a learner driver and I own a Ford Ka. I only paid £900 for the insurance six months ago, which I saved up in advance. Anyway I have passed my theory and expecting to pass my test really soon.

The problem I now have, is that I had a look to see what my car insurance is gonna be like when I pass my test. It was near enough to £2000, and I really could of burst out crying because I have not been able to save at all since I got it and theres no way I'd be able to afford the monthly payments.

I don't know alot about cars and I've been trying to look in to see if theres anywhere else I can go for cheaper insurance, I checked confused.com. I've thought about selling the car and buying a cheaper one but I don't want to get ripped off or buy something completely unreliable, and I have no idea if I would be any better off on the insurance.

I really need to have a car but I have no idea whats going to be affordable and reliable at the same time.

Any advice would be much appreciated

My son and his friends go on to www.inword.co.uk, they seem to have a resident insurance advisor there

I wouldn't buy a cheaper car if i was you as it wouldnt make that much difference. Try getting a quote off moneysupermarket.com or bell, i've had several quotes from them and they have been fantastic!

Be carefull even if you find a cheaper insurer you might find they dont include some options that are included in some of the more expensie companies.
Lower the cost of insurance by have a tracker fitted, take a pass plus course or even still get put on someone elses policy as a named driver until you have a year's no claims, For more help visit www.motoringadvice.co.uk
