People have already mentioned allergies and sleep but hydration is also really important, check you're drinking enough water. A kinesiologist really helped me find out lots of things that were agravating my eczema and since I've been avoiding all these things I've not had one outbreak - maybe one could help you too? -

The dark circles are not always because of lack of sleep. They are hereditary and due to the amount of oxygen in your veins that are under your eyes.
I am 29 years old and have tried a million things. I recently started using a product by Barielle - AM Puffy Eye Relief Cream. I have noticed a difference. I made sure to take photos of myself before I started it and have periodically taken more photos. There is a difference already.
I have heard of Hylexin as well, but it is very expensive. I have yet to try this one. -

I can tell you that I've tried the "natural remedies" from my college friends, everything ranging from papaya crushed with cranberries, purple onion juice, pomegranite blended with seasalt, and the most common is chilled cucumber slices over the eyes. None of that worked for me.
I searched online and came upon a product called Extreme Eye Rescue. The company that makes it is called Isabella Pelle. I purchased the cream 3 months ago, and after about 6 weeks of using it twice on a daily basis I saw the results. My raccoon eyes came back to human. I think I got them from my mother. So I purchased another bottle for her, and she has had similar results to mine.
Look them up online since you can only purchase it online, but they ship worldwide 4 free. You cannot beat that. So this is the best advice I can offer you. I hope this solves your problem.
BTW: I applying some of the cream on my boyfriend's eyes (he's 30) but looks like 50 with the dark eyes. Guess what....It has lightened considerably., and we are about 3 weeks into use with him. So it works on cranky boyfriends as well
