HELP with Sony DSC-W55

I have purchased a w55 and when uploading the pictures to my PC it will not delete them after uploading them.

I have never had this problem before so I am unsure on what to do.

If I upload them using the PC wizard and click 'delete' images it states it hasn't and if I use the sony package and click to delete again it isnt deleting them any advice much appreciated, thanks
