    Two newbie questions:

I'm thinking about getting my first CO2 pistol -- Any comments on the Daisy Powerline 008?

Also, does blow back mean a simulated recoil? I know the 008 doesn't have it, but just what is the definition of it?

    Thanks, Nod

    need an indoor range....lol

would be interesting to see how it stacks up vs 617/622 models.

seems to me to be a sleeker updated model with a little more capacity.

My son has one but again I don't think he's shot it that much. Still, no indoor range, so I'll give it until the weather warms a little.

Ok, I took the 008 out and tried it today. I shot it at 10 meters with PBAs and round lead balls. It's very accurate. i had no trouble shattering poker chips at the distance with both ammos. I expected it to hit a little harder but to be fair it was fifty degrees so i'll try it again when temps hit seventy. It's a good little gun. Some people missed the bright from sight. if it gets to be a problem, I'll consider putting a spot of fluorescent paint on the rear of the front sight.

    The Paladin:

Sounds like you might have a winner there. When things warm up, give us an idea of the power and friendliness of the grip and hold. It looks like it might be a comfortable little package.

It is, hold is great and it consistantly hit where I aimed it. I "killed" a Dr. Peper can and then put some of my "cheap" poker chips in front of my back stop. Come warm weather I'll put up a target and see what size groups i can get. I'm more into my CO2 pistols lately as I don't get to actualy hunt any more. (Hope that will change). But the 008 feels good in the hand and even though theres plastic in the construction it's got enough weight to feel like a pistol. i think it was a good buy (espically for the money). I'm thinking of getting a Colt 1911 (Umarex) all the reviews I've read rave about it.

cool paladin, I tried shooting my springer about 0 F and it did shoot a little slower. It helped with accuracy, but threw my aim off a bit...had to raise my aim point til I rezeroed it. By the time I rezeroed it ....I was too cold to go out. oh well, I didn't get my bunny quota this year. I think I have week left til the season is over and we've hit -14 F again. The rabits are coming out in the daytime nicely...but still too cold for me.

your springer shouldn't be effected too mnuch, but my co2 guns are pretty pointless right now. frustrating. I've not been able to get out in the woods in a long time so i've begun to admit it. i'm planning to (if possible, and this kind of thing has fallen through before) to try the Walther Winchester replica. In other words, more heavily co2. I just got the 1911 colt abd a couple of revolvers. still, there are a lot of guns out there I'd still love to have. I've got my eye on that Diana RWS 46 Stutzen, it's supposed to be super accurate.
