I order my Xmas food from M & S annually. In this case I ordered the food in late November for Christmas Eve collection. I went to my allocated pick up time and collected my Turkey and pork total cost £54. Laden with other packages and trying to ensure I did not overstay my welcome in the car park I rushed home. Upon arrival I examined my food. Horror! The Turkey was best before 26/12 - but so was the pork!!. Two days and it goes in the bin. Too late to go back or call. The turkey was fine to be cooked on Christmas day. The pork was planned for the 27th when my family arrived. My wife (on the same day) came to the rescue "freeze it" she said practically. "It's too big" said I. "cut in half" she proposed. "Yuck!" we both said as I manfully cut it in half. Upset I emailed M and S. In short the lady empathised and was sorry but - bad luck it was in date. But said I it was on the turn - E coli sprung to mind. Sorry - she said we cannot help. i wrote again. Please send us the original packaging - Said the employee when she wrote back in the New Year. Too late I quipped. I tend not to keeep rancid meat wrapping on the off chance you want it back....THE MOTTO Watch it 'THIS IS M AND S FOOD'
