I had a pistol before a rifle, worked well in that order.

I think for target practice at 10 meters, with iron sights, an airgun pistol really helps with your aim and trigger control. I've been shooting a .22 cal. CO2 6 shot repeater indoors when I can't get outside and can see improvement in my shooting over time. I do have a fiber optic front sight that really helps, but mainly go off the blocks in the front and rear sight. A consistant sight picture and pratice is the key for me.

Shooting an airgun pistol with iron sights helps keep your eyes focused on the target and sights at the same time. My eyes are not as sharp as they used to be, but I can still do pretty well on a non moving target and hit most of the time what I want to hit. My smallest targets are down to a dime sizes faces, but hitting targets the size of a quarter has really been improving and I can hit them nearly all the time.

The biggest factor for me is just having fun. The Co2 repeating pellet pistol seem so realistic and is a lot of fun to shoot. Also, an airgun pistol good for training poeple how to use a gun properly and a lot of the loading, handling and shooting techniques can be applied to real firearms and gives beginners, like myself, a good place to start. Also, for those who don't have a firearm pistol to shoot, an airgun pistol is a fun and affordible way to closely experience what it may be like.

IF you want a change of pace or a little variety in your shooting experiences, tryout a pellet pistol and have som fun.
