I currently have a pair of Babyliss straighteners, but have recently found them to be snagging and frying my hair. They weren't very expensive, and I completely sympathise that I need to spend good money for a good product.

I have thin hair but lots of it, I really can't risk frazzling it, cause it's bleached and I'm scared of completely scorching it. It's very stubborn and my Babyliss straighteners have never given the desired effect, they just about straighten it, but it's never been poker straight... and it never lasts more than half an hour.

So could somebody recommend some straighteners that are of a decent quality and price that wont kill my social life? Laughing

Also, what products would you recommend to give a deep conditioning treatment, and to help to keep my hair straight for as long as possible.

BTW I live in England and don't feel comfy ordering over the net with electronics, makes it harder if I have a problem with the product.

    Thanks! -X-

    Hiya,

I had the same problem!!! A week ago, I had a bad hair straighteners (bought in boots) but i've been looking around and asked few people around... they ALL told me to buy GHD. So I went on few website... I've been disappointed so many times when buying online. But finally i found a website www.alwaysgorgeous.com and i bought The GHD Christmas Glamour Box for £149. I know what u gonna say it's expensive but god!! i received it last friday, it's gorgeous and i've got so many freebies with it.
The GHD Christmas Glamour Box is really nice and this website has been professional. I do recommend www.alwaysgorgeous.com
U can try other websites if u want but i tried few and they are not so good.
    Good luck in your quest!!!!

Thing is I actually can't order online, as my card wont allow it. (I set up my account through college, it's basically only there so my job has somewhere to put money, I have to go and withdraw the cash to pay for things, so no online buying for me Sad Does mean I don't have to worry about spending too much though, lol )

I'm only one £170 a month at work, so I'd have to save up for 3 months to buy that set, when I factor in my bus pass and food... I hate being poor > . <

But if GHDs are the only option (which is the way it's looking) I'm just gonna have to suck it up and save up for them, lol!

    Thanks for the advice -X-

    hi ,,x

I had the same problem as you my hair is very very thick.. no straightner could keep it straight no matter how many times id straighten it and it ended up getting really dry, have u got any heat protection spray you use before straightning it? you can spray on while your hair is wet or dry its not much just a few quid from boots . superdrug or places like that a few brands do it including tresemme. Also i now have my hair thinned now and again so it isnt as thick and my ghds work a treat! Very Happy they are the only straightner i know that last all day keeping your hair straight , even mine! Surprised , however i have a slight problem , i am absolutely thrilled that my hair now stays straight but the thing is i got my ghds unexpectantly for christmas , and i barely straighten my hair anymore i prefer it curly , my ghds cost £130 and they are the thickest ones, they are in excellent condition they are in the box with the booklet and dvd in there ( which i havent touched) the straightners look brand new and have only been used a few times. The thing is as my mum ordered them from the internet for me she cannot get a refund , so she suggested i sell them , i wont sell them for the full £130 as they are second hand (however you wouldnt think that lookin at them) im thinking maybe £70 or £80 which is a huge £50/£60 off the original price , but i have one problem .. i have no idea how to sell them Question
im sorry for being thick but can anyone suggest a way?
i dont know anybody who would like some as all my friends have them , and with the money i use im going to get some ghd stylers becuase you can curl your hair with them Very Happy although i will need about £60 on top Sad but oh wel , it will be worth it Very Happy Very Happy
anyway ive spent so long writing this essay ive forgotton what i was replying to Confused
    anyway bye xxx

    Hi

My haidresser recommends FHI -- they have heat control which is important otherwise you could damage your hair with the heat. They are also small - you do not need a cumbersombe straightener when doing your hair.

    Hope it helps
