My home's air conditioning unit stopped working yesterday and I did some online troubleshooting and figured out that it was a faulty dual run motor start capacitor.

HVAC technicians can charge up to $250 to replace one of these and it's very simple to do yourself. Just make sure you turn off the power, breakers, and pull the fuses first!
