    Hi all
In the past I have been resigned to using over the counter cameras from the likes of high street retailers but then being disappointed with the outcome.

I am doing more photography now of my animals and also falcons, hawks and dogs but the result is either a blurred or missed opportunity

I have a budget to consider but can anyone offer a camera of give me a model at a reasonable cost that will do the following:-

    above 4MB images
multi shot to capture a series of images
crisp images of medium to fast moving objects

Any help is appreciated. Will happily buy used goods as long as in good condition

    regards

    Ian

Ian, no idea of your budget but I would seriously consider getting a digital SLR.

Cameras like the Nikon D40 give you a lot out of the box to get you started. Plus, you are buying into a future system (Nikon, Canon, Pentax etc) of interchangeable lenses and superior accessories.

For some background reading, try dpreview.com. Note though that there's quite a lot of hair-splitting in camera reviews, and they are all good.

The best buying strategy is probably to go to a reputable shop and handle two or three cameras in your budget. Get the one that you like the feel of.
