    I have a 3 cylinder corsa 1.0 on a v plate it has done 78,000 miles, problems started about 6 months ago. the car was struggling when it was first started but going great when warmed up, however it would struggle up hills from time to time and the engine light would come on.
    I had this checked out and they said it was the oxygen sensor, had it replaced and it seemed to work for about a month and then it started again, so took it back said it was the oxygen sensor had it replaced but it wasnt that, then had the mass air meter replaced but it isnt that.

    have you any ideas ? If you suggest its the ecu does it need to be replaced?

    hi

    I have a 1999 3 cylinder corsa which has been a great little car, but just recently has developed exactly the same problem as yours. The car judders like mad when the engine is cold and looses all power up hills. I've taken it to 2 garages and nothing has been found on the diognostics tests. This is driving me absolutley crazy, Crying or Very sad please let me know if you ever solved tis problem

    I have an 02 Corsa Comfort 1.4 with only 15k on the clock, 1 years MoT & a full service record. The trouble is that every morning the engine cuts out after 800 yards - the engine management light comes on and stays on. You restart the engine and the car is fine for the rest of the day. Vauxhall say that they need to strip down the engine for £700 because the valve 'might' be sticking but I think it is a electronic sensor which is malfunctioning. But does anyone know which one please?

    The fact you are having problems when the car is cold could suggest a problem with the idle speed control motor but I would have thought that this would show up in the diagnostic. My son has had a W reg 1.0l Corsa envoy for almost 18 months and we've had no end of problems with it. In summary, for anyone else having problems;
    It's had 2 new cats and oxygen sensors due to failed exhaust emissions, I believe this is due to the engine burning oil, probably caused by leaking valve stem seals.
    The engine management light would come on intermittently with no marked effect on engine performance so we ignored this until eventually it was on all the time, again the car was running fine though. Eventually it started to cut out and would not restart for several minutes. The diagnostics showed up a defective exhaust gas recirc valve (EGR) and a faulting crankshaft sensor.
    Recently it started losing power intermittently, the diagnostics showed up a defective oxygen sensor, but it was actually a faulting air mass flow meter.
    To date this year alone the car has cost over £800 in parts and labour just to keep it going, my advice to anyone with one of these is GET RID save yourself a long, torturous and expensive experience.
