I've read a few threads on here about people having power problems with their Corsa.

I bought a new Corsa in October when they were released and so my fiancée now has my old 04 reg Corsa Energy CDTi. Sadly, it lacks the energy.

One thing to note is that from early on when I owned it, it was pretty thirsty with the oil and was so throughout it's time with me. Because of this, I had it serviced more regularly than what Vauxhall specified.

Anyway, my fiancée now has the old Corsa which she says is very sluggish and lacks power. I'm inclined to agree with her. When it is started up it emits quite a bit of blue/white smoke and settles down. When idling it doesn't sound very smooth, jumps about very slightly. In neutral and not moving, rev it and it struggles to reach 3000rpm. It gets there but doesn't go much higher and isn't totally smooth in getting there. When it's being driven and you put your foot down, the power isn't there, you get a burst of power when the turbo kicks in. It's a shame because it was such a nippy motor when I had it but even when I had it it started to feel a bit power-less.

Anyone any ideas how to sort this or improve it? I've bought some Redex fuel additive to put in when she next refuels to see if it may be the injectors that need cleaning. I had wondered if it needed it's timing belt/chain adjusting or replacing?

I look forward to hearing from others about this and I hope it can be sorted out.

    Thanks in advance.

Hello.. i used to have the same problem.. my car used to have full power but at about 3000rpm it used to cut back and become really sluggish.. i however got mine remapped from the standard 69bhp i believe it was to......... wait for it...

105bhp... .now it keeps it with golf gt tdis... it now spinns it 2nd gear as soon as the turbo kicks in in the wet... lots of fun...

to rectify the previous problem i was told it was the inlet manifold sensor. might be worth taking that off and giving it a good old clean or it could be the air flow sensor...

    hope that helps.
