    Hi all,
I believe that history repeats itself. My parents are now happily married for 25 years. Now I am getting married in April 2008. I want to wear the same dress that my mother wore on her wedding. May be some of her luck would rub off on me….. Besides that dress is one of its own, so beautiful, and it would set me apart from the all the other brides, I hope for good (my fingers are crossed). But I want to get it altered to make it a fusion of old and new.

I know that alterations in a wedding gown are not a job of novices. That’s why I am on the lookout for an expert. Can you guys help me out with tips on what to look in a tailor…..and stuff like that. I don’t wanna spoil that gown, so guys start writing in now to HELP ME OUT. Question

    Hello,

You want to make sure that you find someone with vast experience altering wedding gowns. I would recommend that you start inquiring at you local bridal salons. Most of these establishments contract with tailors and seamstress who have worked extensively with wedding gowns.

Also, interview recent brides to see if they can recommend someone to you for this purpose. New brides are an excellent resource for all things wedding. I hope that my two cents will help you find what you are looking for.

    Happy planning to you!
