Your in England and im in Australia so prices will vary greatly
If your shooting skeet you need a double barrel but if just shooting down the line you can use a single barrel but your dissadvanteged
Prices can vary from 600-$5000
So it all depends on your price range
Also what dicipline will you be shooting becasue i shoot clay targets too? -

Anytime
Gun laws here well ill explain (put the kettel on)
First of all you have to be 18 (im 13 and i have a junior license)
Once you apply and have been acepted you have to pass a saftet course (which consists of parctial and theroy)
Once you have passed the test you recieve a form you have to send it away and wait for about a month
Once the month is over you can go a purchase your license
Once you have your license you have a 1 month cooling of period which is usless as you cant purchase anything
You also have to keep your guns in a cabinet which must pass special requierments (no keeping the guns under the bed)
After the cooling period is over you have to send a PTA (Pemit To Aquire) (along with $30) which take approx. 40 days (the PTA is so the qovernment can keep track of who has what guns.
Once your PTA has come back you can purchase ONE gun for which catergory you have selected either ABCH or G
(When you apply for the licence you have to choose the caterogys you want most people just choose A and B
becasue the other have extra costs and need special requirements.) You can not purchase pistols unless you are part of a speciled pistol club and you ulso can't hunt with pistols
And everytime you want another gun you have to send another PTA away.
So there you go
Cheers. -

Well it dosn't matter how tough the laws are here i'll do what ever i have to do to own a gun legally
When Deadeyedick comes back from his holiday (i don't know how long though) you should ask him what shotgun he uses becasue he is in england too. he shoots air rifles, rimfires centre fires and shotguns.
If you have anymore question just ask away! -

I have shot lots of types and makes of shotguns and i can honestly say there's no right or wrong answer here. You can spend as little of as much as you like on a shotgun but its no good if it doesn't fit you !!! I would seriously pay for a couple of lessens and take some advice from a professional can can look at your stature, posture and gun mount. Whats right for me or anyone else may not be right for you. We all have our own little gun mount quirks and posture problems. The best gun i have every shot was a £75 over and under 12g, I seriously could do no wrong with it. I know have a remington semi auto that although is a cracking gun it doesn't really suit me. I find myself taking the .410 hushpower before the semi as i can hit more with that than i can with the 12g.
