    I have a Pioneer XV-DV313 which has been fine for ages. It is multi region but for some unknown reason it will now only play back up copies of dvd's and not original discs! I could understand it if it was the other way round but this has me really baffled. It does occasionally play original but it it is getting rarer.

    Any help would be great.

    Have the same problem. Official disk won't play. Copies will. Have you foun out what it is?

    I took the cover off mine and cleaned the lens with alcohol and have had no problem since.

    I've had the exact same problem.

    I was thinking of taking off the cover and cleaning the lens but I was worried incase I broke the player.

    Is it easy to do?

    I tried it with a q-tip and compressed air and it works fine now.

    Hello,
    I posted october 2007 the samen problem with the Pioneer and cleaned the lens. No problem since then. Opening is really easy and I cleaned with alcohol and 'earstick' (don't really know if this is correct English).
    Anyway: works great again.
