Hello everyone here on the Food Forums ...

I'm 16 and have just started to cook ... until recently I didn't find it appealing, but I've actually found that I quite enjoy getting into the kitchen and making something up, or just sticking to a recipe ...

So I'm not sure about the actual point of this thread; just wanted to post that vital news here ...

Actually I have a recipe of my own if anyone's interested, I made this one up from scratch and I've made it - it's nice ...

‘ James’ Pork ‘ ( Excuse my poor naming talents )

Serve with potatoes, rice, noodles, or anything else that takes your fancy.

    Spice Mix :

    - 1 teaspoon of flour
    - 1 teaspoon of sugar
    - 1 teaspoon of oregano
    - ½ teaspoon of crushed chillies
    - Fresh sage
    - Fresh rosemary
    - Fresh bay
    - 1 tablespoon of tomato puree
    - Sprinkling of paprika
    - Sprinkling of turmeric

    The Vegetables :

    - 1 onion
    - 1 carrot
    - 400g of tinned tomatoes (1 tin)
    - Cucumber

    The Pork :

    - 500g of pork chops, or you can use sausages

    Other Ingredients :

    - 1 tablespoon of cider vinegar
    - A drizzle of olive oil
    - ¾ pint of vegetable stock
    - ¾ tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce

    Method :

    1. Drizzle some olive oil into a pan, and leave to heat. Whilst this is taking place, use the time to cut the pork chops into halves, removing any gristle.

    2. When the pan is hot enough, add the pork and keep it moving until it’s nice and brown.

    3. Remove the pork and add the vegetables. Leave them until soft.

    4. Add the cider vinegar. Leave for a minute, then add the ‘ Spice Mix ‘ and bring it together.

    5. Add the pork, tinned tomatoes, vegetable stock and anything else that remains. Mix all together nicely so the distribution is even, then bring to the boil.

    6. All you need to do now it put the lid on and leave it to simmer. After an hour, try tasting it to see if any seasoning needs to be added - if so then add appropriately and leave once more for a further 30 minutes.

So that's it ... try it if you want to and I hope you enjoy it !!

    James.
