Removing gear knob

I've got a Civic Coupe EK. How do i go about removing the gear knob?

if ur refering tot hat thing that says the gea numbers try twisting it of it shud be able to twist of

Yeah, that's what i'm talking about. I tried twisting it but the leather, gear gaitor twisted as well so i left it. I was told that i would have to remove the leather gear cover and undo the gear knob 'collar' (if you feel below the gear lever you'll notice it.
Just not sure i should keep twisting or if i'm meant to ben doing something else.

ok whats a little strange maybe the leather is connected to the knob you could probably pull it down
