I'd look carefully. I don't know where you are, and I don't know the laws you're looking at, but the bb gun your talking about, I wouldn't use it even on sparrows, at least not by choice. Maybe if you were rushed by a flock of rabid sparrows......

Anyway, if you want co2 ans your in the US there are some (far more expensive) and better pistols for killing even very small game. Failing that the Crosman 2250 or 2260 would work well even the even the 2240 would be better, though not for much anything bigger than a sparrow or mouse. Check the laws where you live first, and whats behind where you plan to shoot the birds and plan accordingly. Just be sure before you set out to kill something you have enough gun to do it humainly.

If your only going to be hunting sparrows, it would be far better to just get a small pellet/bb rifle, such as the Crosman 2100. It is only 60 bucks, and it shoots far more accurately than any Co2 pistol I know of. Also, it is cheaper because you save money by not having to buy Co2. I have never liked hunting with a pistol anyways, rifles are more accurate, more powerful, all-around more suitable for hunting. Oh, and the crosman 2100 shoots at 750 feet per second.

what about the crosman 1077 pellet co2 rifle? also can you buy refillable co2 tanks if you get the airsource upgrade kit?

I don't know, but the Crosman 2100 is better. Co2 can't reach velocities as high as pumpers or springers can. The only upside of the 1077 is that it is semi-automatic. It shoots around 500 feet per second I'm pretty sure, but the 2100 shoots at 750. Not like that much is going to make a huge difference anyway if your only shooting sparrows, but in case something bigger ever comes along, I'd want that 250 extra feet per second. Also, the 2100 has a magazine that you can put 17 bb's into, so its not like it takes a while to load it or anything. Its your choice, but I have always preffered a pumper or springer over Co2. Much cheaper, much faster, much more efficient.

To use the larger cylinders of co2 you have to buy an attachment, which I don't like. And the semi-auto on the 1077 is really double action as you are turning the round mag. this gives you a harder trigger pull. The 2260 runs about $80 and will shoot a .22 at around 600 fps. You do have to load every round, but it's a bolt and works smoothly. My one reservation is still, be sure of your laws. Are you inside city limits and are there close houses? be sure before you start shooting. I wondered this becaus of your initial intenbt to use the bb gun. Have a good one.

this 2100,is it accurate with bbs because i have a remington 77 airmaster and the only thing worth shooting is pellets cuz the bbs are so inaccurate.

I HAD A DAISY 15XT, THAT THING IS SURE FUN TO SHOOT. IT DOES GET A LOT OF SHOTS PER CO2 POWERLET. IT GOES THROUGH GLASS BOTTLES WITH NO PROBLEM. IT IS ONE OF THE FASTEST BB PISTOLS I'VE SEEN ESPACIALLY WITH THAT PRICE. Cool

I have one, and it's really an all around great gone. It shoots at around 625 fps (I modded mine to shoot faster, look at my post in the air rifle section if you're interested in the 1077), and is very accurate, reliable, and extremely light and well balanced. You'll get about 3 1/2-4 magazines (it has 12 round magazines) with the 12 grams cylinders and a lot more with the 88 gram adapter. It becomes a little front heavy with they adapter, though. But it isn't anything you can't deal with.

But to answer your question, no, you can't get refillable tanks for it. It would be nice if you could, though.

It's a great gun. Has good power for taking out any kind of small game (I've taken geese with it before) up to 20 yards (past that the game usually takes off because it hears the gun go off before the pellet is able to get there), and if you miss with the first or don't get a clean kill you have another 11 to finish the job.

If you're looking into CO2 rifles or pistols this will be probably the best one you can get, and one of the hardest hitting ones for the price. I would say go with this over a cheap pneumatic (pneumatics can vary in accuracy greatly), and they tend to give out after not much use.

Hope that helped, and if you have any more questions about it go ahead and ask.
