    I have a 4 year old Ferguson W7023U 28" widescreen TV and have recently bought a Toshiba SD260-ESB DVD player to go with it.

    Everything works fine except when playing 4:3 aspect ratio movies.

    Instead of playing back in 4:3 with black sidebars as I expected, it automatically stretches the picture to 16:9 widescreen which gives distortion of course.

    I've tried every combination of settings to no avail.

    Is this just something I have to live with or do I have a solveable problem?
