I purchased a Civic I-Shift EX a couple months ago and I find the I-shift highly dangerous and extremely temperamental. It’s constantly shifting between gears and when I need the extra power to manoeuvre around the lag in gearshift and the almost immediate gear change after is very frustrating.
I contacted Honda on a dealership level and Head office and they are not willing to help! I feel very disappointed and cheated with this I-Shift.
Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA), Incident and Defect Department are aware of the issue and want to hear from other drivers with the same problem. If you have a similar problem, please call there number is found on their website With enough complaints they will recall the vehicle.

hi there. i know this reply comes a bit late but it's only now that i found this review center
i have the same civic 1.8sport i-shift since february and i am going crazy trying to convince everybody what a jerky gearing system it has, such a shame for a honda motor to be draged down by this awful gearbox
i am so happy to find that i am not the only one pointing out this problem-in my country there aren't too many i-shifts and aside from my friends , that actually drove the car, everyone else is very suspicious of what i say. i suspect myself that the answers i get are from car dealers trying to change the perspective i've created in order to sell the cars. i know for a fact that the car is dangerous, i was stucked in the middle of a crossroad one too many times for precious seconds before it shifted the gears corectly. that is way i never drive in auto mode, only for a very short while, like when i smoke a cigarette.
regarding the phone number you've mentioned, make sure i'll use it Laughing i would call god himself just to get back the money and reinvest them in a safe and reliable car as i always intended- a honda civic with manual transmition Laughing
