I have an electric G36 airsoft rifle, and it's complete rubbish. To be honest, I think it's broken because all it's ever done is spit bb's out four or five feet.
To me, the whole idea of having a "battery gun" doesn't sounds that attractive. I mean saying "my electric gun has 9 volts of power!" doesn't sound that great.
Aside from this, you have to recharge the damn things. I think the fact that airsoft is an electric rifle dominated sport stopped me from ever getting into it. But I'm sure there are good battery guns out there, somewhere.

its the efficiency that has to be considered. it will vary as to which battery, motor, gearbox, and spring you have installed, but generally one battery will last you a skirmish. they are select fire. and they are much less fussy about temperature. try using a gas weapon at -5C and see how it shoots. also, the cost per shot is almost free. you pay for a bb and a minuscule amount for electricity. electric weapons are effective and practical. the only problem with them is the noise they make. i like the sound of gas weapons, that make mechanical noises, as opposed to the noise a smart car makes when it tries to move forward. that is their only limiting factor.
in every other field, they are ideal. if yours isnt performing well, you must have either a lemon or a cheap make.

You said that it wasnt shooting very well...
You may have overcharged the battery which could have fried it. If this happened you may have to get a new battery and maybe a new charger. If the gun was expensive then you should hope that it is the battery because you can always buy another one off shortyusa.

Nah, it was £30 odd when I first got it about 2 years ago now. I'm not bothered, as I don't need an airsoft gun at all. It was more of a toy thing, I just thought "hey, why don't I get this" to myself and walked out of the shop without even relising that I'd picked it up.
It is a cheap make, too, called "Double Eagle" or something as nasty sounding. It's all plastic, which means that it tips the scales at a staggering 10 grams (or atleast it feels like it).
Anywho, just wanted to make it clear that you should stay away from this illusive "Double Eagle" brand.
