because you are buying the cheap ones. with the proper care, any airsoft gun will last longer than you will know what to do with.

a $0.50 clear plastic mini LPEG isnt airsoft. it shoots spherical projectiles, and that is the only thing in common. all name-brand airsoft are very robust, as long as you dont try to use them as slim-jims. period, real airsoft doesnt break in a week.

what make was it? if i'm correct, it was some cheap chinese mfg. springer. you cannot compare these to guns like the ksc mac-11, ICS ak74m, or any of the gas-powered scoped rifles. to mislabel these toys as airsoft guns is no different from saying a ford pinto breaks down all the time, so ferraris are bad too. it makes no sense to compare the two. go to an airsoft field near you and ask some of the players if they will let you try out their guns. they are likely automatic, heavy, and ooze quality. you cant say airsoft guns break down all the time if you dont even know what they are.

as of now, there are likely more than 12 different brands, and models of aks. as already said, the ics ak-74"m"(stock doesnt fold)

will nto break down in a week. you want an ordinary -47, try a tokyo marui. they are the founders of this sport, and if anyone said they constantly break down i would be suspicious. as already said, you cant compare cheap chinese mfg. guns with the true quality japanese or brand-name taiwanese make guns. they just plain dont compare.

so sum it up, brand-name airsoft doesnt break very often at all, not even the mid-range UTG(leapers) guns.

yours break because they are cheap chinese make guns. spend at least $150USD on one (yes one, not in a 15 pack from shanghai) before you say "it broke!", and then you will have a valid argument. from that price point on, they will last a while without problems.

and very high-end stock airsoft gets even better.

I bought an Airsoft M4 by HFC, The foresight and stock broke but I've made it into a carbine and it still shoots just as well as the day I bought it.

Get a cheap UTG M324 of shortyusa , for only 85$ US it might actually make it outside with out breaking Laughing

    Shortyusa Homepage

It works decently and it wont break the bank. Click on the link and then click on spring rifles and find the UTG M324.

    -Good Luck!

Listen to starling death, as he keeps saying you get what you pay for and if you pay for the really cheap springers and abuse them they will break easily. My Tokyo Marui M4 (£200 over here, so about $400 USD) is going strong a year later having fired thousands of rounds. I also have purchased pistols for about $30, or rifles for $60 and you really cant compare the quality of the parts.

The more expensive ones have lots of metal inside, the plastic is better quality and stronger and the 'fit' and finish is much better.
If your guns are breaking after a week perhaps try to save for a better quality one, or go easier on them. sorry if this advice sounds patronising as it isn't meant to be, but with airsoft you do get what you pay for, and you cant really call a lot of the cheap guns 'airsoft'.
    hope that helped
