two stroke problem

can anybody help out,

my kid got a twostroke scooter as in stand on scooter,

I managed to get it started but when i give it full revs to get it going it dies, the revs dont stay up and it stalls. i get good spark and the fuel seems to get through all though it does not tick over, i have to keep revvin it.i was wondering what else it could be any suggestions,
