From Canada,
Hi I am restoring a 67 Comet 289 C4. I installed the rebuilt motor and tranny, did the half hour cam run in. Then I noticed the tranny would not ingage. I was told I did not intsall the torque converter all the way. I pulled the tranny and found small filings in the bellhousing. So I think I fried my pump?? Did I wreck anything else? Torque converter looks fine, would it be OK. Do I just put in a new pump? Do I have to strip and clean the tranny out completly? Do I have to do a rebuild. Just did it 0 miles. Any info would be a great help. Thanks (I will never make that mistake again) -
